born 1978 in Germany
Art
Coming from a background of graphic design and computer science C.K. Böhm started out in focussing the career in visual effects and animation before working as a multimedia-designer and artist in Germany.
At the beginning of the artistic journey the works focused on organic materials, new technologies and the strange dynamic it possessed.
Sugar Cycle is a series of experiments with sugar as a art tool and tries different approaches to explore it.
The interactive experiments satisfy the curiosity for emerging technologies like facerecognition, Googles Deepdream, sensor analysis and vj-tools for artistic expression and shows the background in computer science and the vast field of interests of the artist.

The latest works bridge the gap to the early exploration into stop-motion.
The search for the strange, the morbid, the intrinsic properties of organic material is a important part. This comes to the surface in all of the projects but most obviously in the latest ones, especially in the surreal behaviour studies and development of experimental macro environments.
The unexpected, futuristic and dark visions that live in these strange and tiny sets are born from dreams, imagination and influenced by works from Brothers Quay, Jan Svankmayer, soundscapes from Daphne Oram but also modern cinematic forms.

With a futuristic stylistic approach they are spanning the gap of old and new ideas in experimental video art. They open up a whole new variety of artistic expression which echos between the future and the past, the known and unknown.
